The “2FA code was sent to phone” or “Check your 2FA settings” error usually occurs when Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is not configured correctly on your Amazon account.
For Easync to process orders and update their status automatically, your Amazon account must have 2FA enabled and configured to use an authenticator app only.
Important: If your Amazon 2FA settings include additional verification methods, such as a phone number or email address, orders may not be processed or updated automatically. This is because the OTP (One-Time Password) code may be sent to your phone or email instead of being available through the authenticator app.
Only the App option should be enabled in your Amazon 2FA settings. Phone and email verification methods should not be selected.
Follow the instructions below to configure your 2FA settings correctly.
Scenario 1: Two-Factor Authentication Is Not Enabled
If you have not enabled 2FA on your Amazon account, you will need to set it up before Easync can process your orders automatically.
Step 1: Open Your Amazon Security Settings
Log in to your Amazon account.
Navigate to Login & Security.
Locate the Two-Step Verification (2SV) settings.
Select the option to manage or enable Two-Step Verification.
Step 2: Select the App Option
During the setup process, select App as your verification method.
Do not select a phone number or email address as an additional verification method.
Step 3: Save Your Amazon 2FA Secret Key
During setup, Amazon will provide a secret key consisting of approximately 53 characters.
Make sure you save the secret key provided by Amazon instead of setting up 2FA by scanning a QR code.
You will need this key to configure your Amazon account in Easync.
Keep the secret key secure, as it can be used to generate authentication codes for your account.
Step 4: Add the 2FA Secret Key to Easync
Open Easync and navigate to Fulfillment Account.
Locate the Amazon account you want to configure.
Find the Amazon 2FA field and enter the secret key you saved in the previous step.
Click Update at the bottom of the Amazon account details to save your changes.
After saving, you will be redirected to the Fulfillment Method page.
Step 5: Complete the 2FA Setup
On the Fulfillment Method page, locate your Amazon account.
On the right-hand side of the account, you should see the Copy OTP option.
Click Copy OTP to obtain the authentication code.
Return to your Amazon 2FA setup page.
Enter the OTP code to complete the verification process.
Follow any remaining instructions provided by Amazon to finish setting up 2FA.
Once the setup is complete, your Amazon account should be configured to use the authenticator app for verification.
Scenario 2: Two-Factor Authentication Is Already Enabled, but Phone or Email Is Also Configured
If you have already enabled 2FA but your Amazon settings include a phone number or email address as an additional verification method, you will need to reconfigure your settings.
Step 1: Disable Your Current 2FA Setup
Log in to your Amazon account.
Navigate to Login & Security.
Open the Two-Step Verification (2SV) settings.
Disable your current 2FA configuration.
Step 2: Set Up 2FA Again Using Only the App
Enable Two-Step Verification again and select App as the only verification method.
Do not select a phone number or email address as an additional verification method.
Step 3: Follow the Setup Instructions
Repeat the steps described in Scenario 1:
Save the Amazon 2FA secret key instead of using the QR code.
Open Fulfillment Account in Easync.
Enter the secret key in the appropriate Amazon 2FA field.
Click Update at the bottom of the account details.
Return to Fulfillment Method and click Copy OTP next to your Amazon account.
Enter the OTP code on Amazon to complete the setup.
Make sure that only the authenticator app is configured as your verification method.
Summary
To resolve the “2FA code was sent to phone” or “Check your 2FA settings” error:
Enable 2FA on your Amazon account if it is not already enabled.
Select App as the only verification method.
Save the Amazon 2FA secret key provided during setup instead of using the QR code.
Enter the secret key in Fulfillment Account in Easync and click Update.
Navigate to Fulfillment Method, click Copy OTP, and enter the code on Amazon to complete the setup.
If phone or email verification is already configured, disable the existing 2FA setup and configure it again using only the app.
Important: Your Amazon account must be configured correctly for Easync to retrieve OTP codes and support automatic order processing and updates. If the OTP is sent to your phone or email instead, the affected orders may not be processed or updated automatically.
